On Monday, we had the honor of welcoming Ward Lutin Lutin from the European Union Agency for Asylum for the first lecture of the EU Academy’s spring edition.
Mr. Lutin provided invaluable insights into the complex realities of migration, international protection, and the evolving role of the EUAA.
From improving asylum processes and reception conditions to supporting courts and tribunals and analyzing migration trends, the discussion touched on key challenges and opportunities in managing asylum systems across the EU.
We also reflected on how asylum seekers' situations are being handled today, sparking an open and honest exchange on what is working, what isn’t, and what could be improved.
Our fellows were fully engaged, asking sharp questions and debating the role of data-driven policymaking, the treatment of vulnerable groups, and the ethical responsibilities of EU institutions.
It was a conversation that went beyond policy, we shared our values, perspectives, and the human impact behind the headlines.
The EU Academy is now officially underway, and this powerful first session sets the tone for many more insightful discussions to come. We're excited to keep learning, challenging assumptions, and growing together.
